This air cleaner uses an interceptor-type HEPA filter that has a deep bed of randomly positioned fibers (made of micro-glass) with diameters ranging from 0.3 to 1.0 microns. Air channeled through this filter must follow a tortuous path, twisting and turning. While the air is channeled through the filter, particulate matter in the air impacts the micro-fibers and adheres to them, thus cleaning the air.
