Perfect and better alternative to Ionic Breeze
Pros: Quiet, Long filter life, Washable carbon filter, Odor remover, Two ion modes, Odor sensor.
Weaknesses: No Dust Sensor.
We purchased the Sharp Air Purifier due to the terrible air in the city and our apartment. We have neighboors that smoke and we needed something that helped with the odors. I couldn’t be more pleased with the performance of this unit. It’s Panasonic’s middle of the line unit at the time. The more expensive one is designed for a bigger room and has a dust sensor which this one lacks. This unit comes equipped with a Pre filter, HEPA filter, Carbon filter and Ion Plasmacluster. The Pre filter traps bigger dust particles and is vaccum-able, The HEPA filters has listed life of 5 years and traps dust down to .03 microns, the washable carbon filter removes odors and the Plamacluster Ion Technology removes free radicals and bad ions in the air. The unit also has a Pollen Mode which cycles between speeds every 20 minutes or so. One of the interesting features of this unit is the two mode Plasmacluster. The negative ion mode green which puts out ions that attach themselves to tiny organice molecules and bring the down out of the air. The clean mode puts out positive and negative ions. The positive ions destroys microorganisms by tearing their cell walls. This mode is good to leave on when you’re away from home to let it really clean up. Overall we’re more than pleased with the unit. The air just feels cleaner in the house, we leave it running non stop and move it from room to room. We notice less dust around and it has definitely helped with odors. We feel good about buying this unit as it also has very low ozone emissions unlike some other popular air ionizers.
