I bought this product around April 2006.

I still use it - it’s well made and it WORKS.

The UV light destroys bacteria.

The HEPA filter [yes, it is expensive but I’ve mine for over one year] is well-made.

Alright - bottom line - IT IS NOT QUIET..

Even with the low setting, you can still hear a slight hum and that’s because of the HEPA.

Seriously folks, I’ve been on Ebay and bought the cheaper lookalike junk that they copy from Oreck and others.

The PROS outweigh the CONS.

It has helped me with my allergy problems [we have two cats %26 a dog]….

When we have poker nights with people smoking - the smell is GONE.

I no longer have sinus problems. Truly. I used to wake up in the morning and I have to blow my nose and hack out the gunk out of my lungs….NO MORE……

The timer also allows you to clean the air in your house room by room. I totally smelled the difference…

YOU GET clean FRESH air when you walk in.

I agree with the other folks - check out the prices online…

I will now use my new filter [ONE YEAR LATER] and enjoy my clean air.
