This air cleaner works, but is too expensive and cannot be maintained by the owner. It will work only so long before it must be brought in for expensive maintenance work. Just getting something as simple as oiling will cost $65. Why would you build something that needs oiling but make no provision for it. This is like moving back to the dark ages before appliances could be oiled. I had a very old fan once, but I never had to bring it to the shop to be oiled and plus pay $65. In other words Oreck has moved backward in time. The Oreck dealer said it needs no maintenance but then admitted they need oiling from time to time. The moment it makes a change in sound, you must bring it in for oiling or the bearings will be ruined. I have had two of these air cleaners. The first one was ruined because they told me it didn’t need maintenance. I just ran it and didn’t worry when it had a change in sound. When I finally brought it in for service, it was ruined. The one I have now just started a different sound so I turned it off.I don’t feel like spending more money on this air cleaner so I am going to junk it.
