Being a skeptic, I didn’t think this little unit would do much to help with our dust problem. So I bought one of their HEPA machines and six of their IZ-270 units. I paid $150 with free shipping for the IZ-270’s and $34 for the HEPA. I know this is a rating for the Ionic Zone IZ-270, so I won’t review their HEPA machine, but I can say that used together they’re a great combination, and dirt cheap. I’ve paid hundreds a year in the past for HEPA filters. Their HEPA filter’s are under $3 and their IZ-270 filters are under a buck.

I bought the Ionic Zone IZ-270 for my bathrooms, kitchen (2), bedrooms and car and use their HEPA machine in the living room and great rooms. The smaller units do require quit a bit of maintenance, but cleaning is very easy. You have this cartridge that pulls out from behind that is easily cleaned by removing the filters and tossing it in the dishwasher once a month. Their pre-filter and carbon filter are cleaned in the sink. They gave me 5 pre-filters and a carbon filter with my purchase. I was actually online looking for their website to order more carbon filters when I found this site. The filters are cheap, under $1. I also clean the inside and outside of the unit with a damp cloth when I clean the cartridge.

I’ve noticed my black and gray units are easier to keep clean than my white units. It’s actually more an ivory color that white, but it does show the dirt more than the darker units.

I called to order my units and the person on the phone was very helpful and knowledgeable. He also recommended a good UV “whole home” system and using Filtrete Ultra Allergen HVAC filters for our home. He said we needed the Ionic Zone’s for negative ions and collection dust on a room by room basis but that using the other products was also advisable. He also sells a Calutech UV whole home air sanitizer for $160 but I didn’t buy it, but I may buy it in the future. Overall, my experience with the Ionic zone products has been positive and I feel it’s a great value for the money.
