Having used the for over a year now, I feel qualified on giving a review. I found this forum on google when searching for “Ionic Zone” in order to order some more filters, check out the latest best deals.

The first unit I bought was from ebay for around $40 last summer. I have 2 cats, a dog, and allergies and a limited budget, and this was cheap, so I decided to give one a try in my bedroom. The first night I used it I slept better than I had slept in years. And the unit was so quiet you couldn’t even tell it was on, I couldn’t believe it. Last Christmas, there was an ebay seller who was selling these for around $25 each, so I bought 6 more to put around the house.

I don’t know if it’s the negative ions, the dust being filtered, or the small amount of ozone (don’t notice a bleach smell at all by the way, just a fresh scent) but these things have really helped with my allergies and my friends and family comment on how much better my home smells. Most of them have also bought these units and also tell me they love them. One friend said he forgot to change the filters or clean the unit and when he went to change the filters 4 months after he bought it the fan didn’t work. He got a new one form the manufacture though, just had to send in the bad fan to get a new one, even though it failed because of his lack of cleaning. But overall, I can honestly say that so far, everyone is impressed with what this unit does for the cost.

If you want a unit that doesn’t require maintenance, this unit isn’t for you. Because I have pets, I have to clean the cartridge and filters twice a month. The cartridge and filters are easy enough to clean however. I throw the cartridge with the 25 pins and collector plates in the dishwasher and I clean the pre-filter and charcoal filter in the sink. All three are dirty within 2 weeks. The hard part is cleaning the front of the fan. I have to take the 4 screws that hold the unit together off once ever 2-3 months and clean the front of the fan of dust. Cleaning the inside of the unit is easy, not so easy to clean the front of the fan. But after I clean it, the unit works good as new again, and I don’t mind doing this since the end result is less sneezing and saving hundreds of dollars a year on HEPA filters. I used a HEPA machine with an ionizer I bought from WalMart before these units, and I spent around $16 every month on filters for just 1 room. But I still had allergies and couldn’t afford the filters anymore, that’s why I tired this unit.

I’m going to buy a few more units soon to finish covering the rest of my home and one for my car. I noticed the cheapest price right now is on ebay, but you have to search for IZ-270 not because only brings up the HEPA machine. They’re selling for $25 with shipping included on ebay right now which is about $10 cheaper than the lowest Internet price.

So if you have pets or allergies and don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars a year on filters, and you don’t mind the maintenance, I think this is the a great unit. Is for me anyway.
