I purchased the Air unit to use in my spare bedroom which is where I keep my pet guinea pig. There are 3 types of filter types to choose from, including general purpose, smoke, and pet odors. The unit comes with a general purpose filter which I tried first. I ran the unit for about 3 weeks, and noticed no change in my allergies, or in the smell in the room. So I purchased the pet odor filter (which was about $7). This also did not help much. There was a slight difference in the odor in the room, but not much. When I replaced the filter, there was quite a bit of dirt-dust built up on it, so it must have been doing something. When plugged into a standard wall outlet, it does cover up both outlets, but that can be easily fixed with a 1 to 2 or 3 plug in splitter attachment for about $2. I am a smoker, and I did notice that in my spare bedroom (which is where my computer is) that if the filter is used close to the smoker, it does do away with alot of the smoke odor. However, It does not do a good job with the smoke in larger rooms. The Air unit is a bit noisy, so if you have trouble falling asleep like myself, I would not recommend it in the bedroom. All in all, the unit must work since I saw the evidence on the dirty filter, but did not notice much change in the air quality or odor. Since the unit is called an odor , I would have to say that it does not live up to it’s name.
