Like many people, we have tried all the plug-ins and stickups for the bathroom to try and keep odors at bay. No matter how often you clean, there always seems to be odors in the bathroom, especially with my husband and two sons using it. Always willing to try better ways to help control the odors, we picked up the when we saw it at the store, at under $15 we thought we’d give it a try.

The is larger than most odor eliminators you see in the store, most are the small plug-in kind like the ones made by Glade. This one does plug in and uses a fan and filter to help eliminate odors and measures about nine inches tall and a little over 6 inches wide, so when you have it plugged in, it will take up your whole outlet, which isn’t good if you only have one outlet.

It can be used in any room where odor is a problem, they recommend it to help control cat litter box odor, diaper pail odors, bathroom odor and cooking odors. It will help control odors in a small room, but not a large one and the closer it is to the odor source, the better. If you want to use it to help keep litter box odors at bay, it’s best to plug it in to the outlet closest to the litter box or if it’s diaper pail odors, the outlet closest to the diaper pail.

Like I mentioned before, we bought ours to help control the odors in the bathroom, which it has done quite nicely. We keep ours on constantly, but if odors are not real bad, you can switch it on only when needed instead of having it constantly running. There is an on/off switch right on the front with an indicator light to let you know when it’s on. Surprisingly, it’s fairly quiet, you only hear a soft humming sound coming from the fan, so if it were to be kept in a small bedroom, it shouldn’t be too loud to disturb anyone’s sleep.

claims that the filters can last up to four months, so far we have been using ours for about two and a half months with no signs of it needing to be replaced yet. They do say that if you use it for very strong odors and have it on constantly, you may have to replace the filter after a month. Ours has been on constantly, except when we need to use the outlet for the hair dryer, so I’m just guessing that the odors in the bathroom aren’t that bad, but I can say that it smells a lot nicer now.

The only other con than it taking up a whole outlet, is that I haven’t been able to find the replacement filters for it. I checked all the stores that says they are sold, even WalMart where we bought it, and can’t find them. I even checked their web site and they don’t appear to have them either. So it looks like we will have to buy another whole unit instead of just a replacement filter if WalMart doesn’t get any in, granted it’ll cost another $15, but it does help control the odors in the bathroom and it works better than the plug-ins which barely last a month for us.
