See cons. This was the third airfilter we bought after first getting the honeywell 17200 and then the Vornado. While the first two worked very well, they were noisy so we got this one because it was suppose to be quiet. It is no more quiet than the other two at similar air volume movement. And, compared to the other two it is 2.5x to 3.5x the price and is a very poor design. Also, you need to buy 3 filters at $60/filter 2 times a year, and you should do it due to poor filter design. The other companies rightly put the coarse filter first, so that less dirty air gets to the more expensive HEPA filter, allowing longer life. This machine is the exact opposite. In addition, when you clean it, you not only have to replace/clean the filters, you also have to clean the metal grids. This is next to impossible because the dirt is on the inside of the grid which you can’t get to - it is like trying to clean the outside of a screen door from the inside. Save your money and get a honeywell or vornado and operate them at their lowest settings if you want quiet operation.
