I purchased this yesterday at WalMart after seeing it in our local Eckerd flyer on sale for $23.99. Well it ended up being about a dollar cheaper at WalMart and with my $10 off coupon I couldn’t hardly pass it up. If I would have not had the coupon it would definatly still be sitting on the shelf.
I opened it expecting to have to put batteries in it or something and found out that it plugs into an outlet. Great to not have to buy batteries for it but bad because our house doesn’t have a whole lot of outlets in it. Also makes it impossible to sit the unit anywhere that you need it.
No assembly required was a plus. Very little to do to operate it the first time. Remove unit from box, attach outlet cord, take scent disk out of packaging, remove scent saver foil and pop into the unit, close the door and press play. I really like the idea of having three different intensity levels. They also say that using a lower intensity level can make your disks last longer than the average 20 plays, which by the way is 50 hours.
Each scent plays for 30 min. and there are five scents on the disk. You can cycle through them at any time so if you don’t like a certain scent you can just skip it.
I have three different scent disks (the one that comes with the machine plus two I had bought on clearance at a local grocery store). The one thing I really don’t like about the machine is that it makes my house smell like a doctor’s office (thus the title).
There is a fan on the unit that blows the scent out of the front which when walking in front of it can be a little annoying but it isn’t very loud (actually it’s quieter than the fan in my computer when it’s running).
I’m a little iffy on using it all the time due to the fact that the disks are a little pricey (around five dollars each) but ocassionally you can find ways to get the free online. There is also a card in the package that directs you to their website where you can fill out a form to receive a free disk but you have to send them a copy of your receipt and the UPC code (so do not throw these away).
The unit itself is very nice looking and not as large as I imagined it would be. I also like the color of the unit.
All in all I would say this is a great product especially if you have little ones and don’t want to light candles. It seems like it will be cheaper to use than most other air freshener items in the market today. As I see it, get it if it’s on sale and you have the coupon, if you don’t just wait until you do and it will be well worth the money.
