Bought an IZ-270 unit and after one week the fan stopped working. Tried to email the company…they never answered their emails. Finally was able to call them and was told they would send out a new fan. After a month still had not received the fan. Called again was told they would send a fan out that day and I would receive a confirmation email…never happened. Finally called again and a new fan was mailed. Another problem with this unit is the back keeps falling off. The filters are held in with small plastic clips that stretch after opening a couple of times. Have to use large rubberbands to keep it held together. This would be a good unit if the parts the company use were not so cheap.

Considering the price I expected mediocre and got poor, mainly because the fan didnt last very long. (it looks like others have suffered from the same defect) But the filter never looked like it was catching anything either. So now its dead collecting dust on a shelf in my garage. (hey maybe it works after all)This is typical low level entrepeneur stuff, usually made in China or taiwan imported to u.s. and then has a geeky name stuck on it. I ended up buying a from Radio shack and it works like a dream.

I bought one of these and the fan didn’t last more than three months. And if you like your phone or email inquiries to go either unanswered or answered by someone who obviously could care less, just wants you off their back, and is downright rude, then you just love the customer support at . Also, my friend did some testing on the unit at his local university and said there was little if any ion emission coming from the carbon brush or any other part of the unit when analyzed under infrared testing. Moral of the story: Don’t even go near this piece of junk.

I bought a few IZ-270 a few years ago from their local store in Las Vegas, NV. I don’t run them all the time and I change the filters and toss the collector plates in the dishwasher once a month and they still work great at removing odors in the bathrooms, kids rooms, and the diaper bag area. They also collect dust quite well. The thing I like most is that the filters are dirt cheap (a few bucks a year) and these units leave the air smelling fresh and clean without a heavy ozone smell like other ionizers I’ve tried. I have a 3000 for my main living area which I bought from their local store and also love, but for bedrooms and bathroom, the iz-270 has been a great performer for me.
