Pros: clean air, reduce allerge
Weaknesses: the collecting plate is not easy to clean, collecting plates are easy to get rusty.
I think maker should redesign the collecting plate, because it has some hard to reach points for cleaning. otherwise it works well.
another weakness is collecting plate claimed to be stainless material, but it is getting rusty like other reviewer said

I followed the manufacturer’s recommendations perfectly: I bought SIX units, placed two in three rooms (since they are “medium” sized rooms). I cleaned the collection plates religiously. (the plates rusted after only two months of use…I emailed the seller who claimed I had the “wrong” plates. He quickly exchanged the “right” plates for my “wrong” ones. Unfortunately, these rusted after two months, as well) I kept them as dust-free as possible. And guess what? They did NOTHING to reduce my mild-moderately severe allergies. They also did NOTHING to reduce odors. They DID emit levels of ozone into my home which may prove to be dangerous to my family’s health. Consumer Reports has recently written an informative article on these ozone-emitting units. Since reading this article, I have unplugged all my XJ-2000s. And you know what? My allergies are no worse than before I used the units! Do yourself a favor: read Consumer Reports and other unbiased magazines. I now have on order a unit that is highly rated by objective experts, not salespeople.

(Edited January 02nd by littlemule82) Just to follow up on my last review, I received my new unit very quickly and it works perfectly and I do not have the static electric shock that I had with the previous one. Surround Air made it so easy on me and sent me a new unit without having me go through a rigorous survey. Just outstanding customer service. I would suggest a humidifier if you have as dry of a house as I do. Also I would have a fan running such as a ceiling fan because that seems to really make a difference as well. I can not mention enough how extremely pleased I am with this unit and their manufacturer! I really wish I had purchased one sooner and I have suggested this xj-2000 to all of my family and friends who have allergies or have pets in their home. If you have the money, this is definitely a great buy!!
