The Hunter 30525 QuietFlo True HEPA Air Purifier features a QuietFlo Fan that draws air into the unit without excessive noise. An advanced activated carbon prefilter reduces cooking, tobacco and pet odors while also capturing larger dust particles, lint and pet hair from dirty air. A True HEPA filter element captures 99.97% of all airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns in size that pass through the filter. Effective Quiet-Flo design exhausts clean, purified air back into the room from the top of the unit to avoid disturbing settled particles. I bought this air purifier for my apartment.
It works very well. The air quality is significantly
improved. When it is running, it is very quiet and
I can still have a good sleep. It works for the room
up to 400 square foot, which is more than enough for
my bedroom. The unit is not very large, but larger than
a few other similar products. My only issue with this
one is that the filter is not permanent, thus you need
to replace it.
It really cleans the air
Pros: Amount of dust that gets filtered out; reduces room odors
Weaknesses: It’s pretty big in size - 28″h and can get noisy on speed 2 or higher
I’ve been running this for 2 months and checked the pre-filter and filter. Wow, it really works. It filtered a lot of stuff out of the air. It seems to have cut down on some odors as well from the dog and cooking (dog doesn’t smell much). It does take fish cooking odors out pretty quickly.
My living/dining room is a bit smaller than the space this is intended to clean so I don’t have many placement options. If I turn it above 1 it is more than white background noise. But, this is my first purifier so I have no comparison.
Originally purchased on a promo from the big C membership club for $120. It’s not available any more, but a home supply chain store does have the smaller unit.
As far as energy consumption, I don’t know if it was a change in electric rates or running a dehumidifier at the same time, but my bill jumped $20 in one month. I’m hoping it’s the combination of rates and number of machines. I run both of them 24/7.
